Medoria Seerose, the child of the family

  1. Bedtime

Medoria sits in her bed in the King’s room in Haven Hall, her soft dragon-toy in front of her. The small girl with the wild red hair and the strange amber eyes whispers to her best friend – not to be heard by mum and uncle, talking silently in the big room one wall further.
“… Mn’godmum…”, she tells urgently and draws with her short arms a big circle, “… sooooo big, sparkling! Really!”
She shakes her head and takes the toy, looking urgently in its face. “Sick”, she tells, tilting her head and then sighs. She asks the little dragon in fluent Draconic: “Mn’godmum doesn’t speak with me. I wasn’t nice? Tell me, I wasn’t nice maybe?” She listens to the toy-dragon and sighs. “Sick, Mn’mum said, yes. Maybe. Maybe she will speak with me tomorrow.” She nods to the dragon with a tiny smile. Then she whispers: “Parents of Nevi and Nuveim were there. I hope we can play together! And… and maybe even go to school together.”
She hugs the toy tightly and says to it in broken Common: “Teacher bad Medoria bad speech.”
Then she hears the steps of her mum, entering their sleeping room. The child dives under the blanket and holds breath.
A silent laugh and careful hands to get the blanket right, covering also the small feet. “You should sleep, darling.” A light touch at her hair. And the murmur next to her ear: “Dream of snowmen and flying to the highest peaks. And maybe… oh, sushi with sweet cake at the Fae Garden, hm?” The child gets a little kiss on the cheek.
Medoria giggles, hugging her dragon-toy. “Snowball fight with Mn’dad!”, she whispers back.
“That’s also a good idea, my dear. I will tell him.”
    “Promise?”
    “I promise.”
And her dream is filled with playing dragons in the snow of Evo.
